We are looking for a creative and dedicated Lead Artist to join our client's inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time Artist role is remote in Europe or on-site in the Netherlands and offers an attractive salary and benefits, along with the chance to be part of a positive and diverse workplace culture. 

As a flexible Lead Artist, you will be responsible for producing in-house and outsourced art assets on schedule and within the established quality limits set by the Art Director. You will also set the visual benchmark and be responsible for training and coaching your team members to achieve their goals on time and within budget.  

To give you an idea of how this Lead Artist role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do: 

  • Collaborate with production to organise, schedule and manage your team's daily activities 
  • Guide, mentor and train artists in your team 
  • Take an active position during team discussions by providing creative and constructive input 
  • Guide the implementation of the art style through toolchains and workflow 
  • Act as liaison between art and code 

To apply for this Artist job, you will need 3+ years of experience in the game industry, including one year as a Lead Artist. You should also have shipped multiple games on more than one platform, one of them being a console. Additional requirements include: 

  • Experience with multiple game engines and their limitations, 2D art tools and 3D software 
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software and version management systems 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Proactive, responsible and highly self-motivated with a passion for games 
  • Previous experience managing out-sourced art assets production is desirable
