Do you have Infrastructure Engineer experience, and are you seeking a new remote role? Skillsearch is helping a collaborative company recruit an Infrastructure Engineer, and the remote role comes with an attractive contract rate.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for onboarding the operating system into the organization's infrastructure, creating and testing Ansible automation playbooks for VM creation based on the CentOS playbook library, and building a scalable and secure Kubernetes infrastructure. You will work closely with the IT team to implement innovative technologies and processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for improvements.
In your first few weeks in this Infrastructure Engineer role, you can expect to:
- Establish an in-house package repository for Ubuntu
- Test security hardening measures as per existing CentOS standards
- Enable Ansible automation for the new server creation process
- Enable monitoring and test backup solutions following existing standards and methods
- Provide guidance and recommendations on Ubuntu and Rocky best practices and adoption methodologies
To apply for this Infrastructure Engineer role, you will need experience in Ubuntu, CentOS, OpenSuse, Kubernetes, and Ansible. Other essential requirements include but aren't limited to:
- Experience implementing and maintaining production applications using high-availability database clusters (PostgreSQL, Redis, Memcached), autoscaling and security monitoring
- Experience in ArgoCD or similar
- Experience with application monitoring implementation
- Experience migrating application VMs to K8s and technology migration to K9s
- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience
