Are you an experienced Payroll professional with strong payroll systems expertise and the ability to confidently engage with business stakeholders?

We're seeking a Payroll Consultant to provide post-production support for a major HR and Payroll implementation. This role requires deep payroll knowledge, strong communication skills and the ability to lead discussions with stakeholders while supporting the ongoing optimisation and stability of payroll operations.

About The Role

This position will focus on post-production payroll support, ensuring payroll processes are running effectively following system deployment.

The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for payroll-related activities, helping resolve issues, support users and optimise system functionality. In addition to payroll expertise, the role requires working knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) functionality and configuration.

This is a client-facing role requiring someone who can confidently facilitate conversations, manage stakeholders and provide guidance on payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-production payroll support following system go-live.
• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner.
• Support ongoing payroll operations and system optimisation.
• Work closely with stakeholders to investigate and address payroll process challenges.
• Assist with HCM-related configuration and functionality where required.
• Participate in client workshops, meetings and support sessions.
• Lead payroll-related discussions and provide expert recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and business continuity.
• Document issues, resolutions and process improvements.
• Support knowledge transfer and end-user adoption activities.

Required Experience

Payroll

• Deep functional payroll expertise.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation and operational best practices.
• Experience supporting payroll systems in a production environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues and recommend solutions.

HCM

• Working knowledge of HCM functionality and configuration.
• Experience supporting HR and payroll processes within an HCM environment.
• Ability to understand the interaction between HCM and payroll processes.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable leading discussions with business stakeholders and project teams.
• Ability to explain technical or system-related issues in a business-friendly manner.
• Strong problem-solving and consultative approach.

Highly Desirable

Experience with:

• Time Tracking (TT)
• Absence Management (ABS)

Candidates with hands-on experience in these areas will be highly advantageous.

• Payroll SME with production support experience.
• Comfortable operating independently in a client-facing environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Confident facilitating meetings and leading conversations.
• Able to quickly assess issues and drive resolution.
