Generalist Engineer in Austin, TX 

Are you a talented Engineer with loads of games industry experience and a passion for working on new IP? If this sounds like you and you’re in the market for a new role, look no further! We could have the perfect position for you... 

As a Generalist Engineer at this studio in Austin, Texas, you will be working closely with other engineers and designers to develop software solutions for their brand-new projects. It is essential that the right person for the role is proficient in C/C++ and ideally has experience with Unreal Engine 4. 

This studio has worked on some of the most legendary game franchises of all time, and there’s so much more to come! Generalist Engineer key responsibilities: 

  • Work with artists and designers to influence the technical direction of projects 
  • Implement systems, monitor performance, and create tools 
  • Estimate the time and effort required for certain technical tasks 
  • Inform co-workers about the progress of deliverables and feature implementation pre-requisites 

Key requirements for this role in Austin, TX: 

  • Significant prior games industry experience in a software engineer role 
  • Have worked on one or more shipped games 
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D maths and physics 
  • Able to understand and modify systems 
  • Proficient in C/C++ 
  • Experience of working with scripting languages and component-based game engines 
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 would be beneficial
