Skillsearch is helping a gaming company recruit a full-time Gameplay/UI Programmer with experience in UI systems. The role is based in-house at Guildford, and it comes with a generous salary and benefits package. 

As a Gameplay/UI Programmer, you will work closely with the design team, UI artists and wider programming team. 

In your first few weeks in this Playplay/UI Developer role, you can expect to: 

  • Implement a variety of UI systems using the Unreal engine and its UMG framework/tools 
  • Create new framework and tools to accommodate any required bespoke or unique features 
  • Prototype and iterate on UI systems to bring them to quality. 

To succeed in this flexible role, you should have at least four years of experience in the games industry together with development experience with the Unreal Engine and confidence using UMG for the implementation of UI systems. You will also need: 

  • Excellent C++ skills, used in a game-development environment 
  • In-depth knowledge of several game systems 
  • Ability to understand and use various SDKs and interfaces effectively 
  • The ability to iterate rapidly from low-fidelity prototypes to finished code.
