Do you have game-writing skills, and are you looking for your next challenge? Skillsearch is helping a gaming company find a native English-speaking remote-working Games Writer. The role comes with a generous salary and benefits package.
As part of the Creative Department, you will help craft the voice, UI text and content of the company's legacy and in-development free-to-play titles. You will be expected to work independently on proofing and editing content for accurate translation and support daily operations for the company's studio.
In your first few weeks in this Games Writer role, you can expect to:
- Maintain quality standards of all English-language content through professional writing, proofing, and editing
- Develop and play-test UI text and strings for mobile, PC, and social platforms
- Support daily localisation document workflow
- Develop engaging, original game-related content for players, including gameplay tips, push notifications, strategy guides, promotional copy and storyboard texts.
To apply for this position, you should have worked in a game studio and helped ship at least one successful title. You will also need:
- An encyclopaedic knowledge of free-to-play games
- Excellent creative writing skills, with flawless grammar and spelling abilities
- Experience in game writing or English localisation QA on at least one shipped game
- Passion for video gaming and the video game industry.
