We’re looking for a talented Game Systems Programmer to play a key role at a multi award-winning studio based in Guildford. The studio is proudly independent and are enjoying huge success off the back of several well-known games. With a reputation for innovative games that thrill their audiences, this is a very exciting studio to become a part of.

As the Game Systems Programmer you’ll be using Unreal Engine 4 to raise the game with their existing systems and tools. You’ll need to be creative, forward-thinking, determined and above all, you’ll love a challenge.

Game Systems Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Work on current game systems while creating new ones for use from production to player-facing code
  • Oversee current game flow logic systems to ensure they are of the highest standard
  • Ensure all of your work follows the company guidelines to create clear, readable, reliable code
  • Work with the wider studio to make sure all work is done with the common goal of creating the best experience possible for the players

Requirements for this role in Guildford

  • Extensive background writing high quality C++ code across multiple shipped games (PC or console ideally but also can be mobile)
  • Previous experience across all levels of engineering to allow you to do rapid prototyping, planning, consultation across systems and more
  • You are confident delivering your work quickly and consistently across all tasks
  • Excellent communication skills to allow you to work closely with other programmers and the wider team of designers, producers, directors etc.
  • You love games!

A little bit about the city: Guildford

Located in a beautiful spot in between London and England’s south coast, Guildford is a busy market town that has been recently updated to be home to some great modern facilities such as an award-winning sport centre, including an ice rink and athletics stadium. However, there is still some culture to be explored in this city, with its historic buildings, beautiful parks and a theatre. Sitting on top of a central hill, Guildford Cathedral looks over the city whilst being surrounded by beautiful, picturesque scenery, making for some great exploring. Situated just outside of London, Guildford is a short 35-minute journey into the capital by train, so is ideally positioned so you are not too far away from a day trip to the big city!

Years of experience and salary levels are shown purely as a guide. We will only consider applications from candidates that can demonstrate the skills or experience required for the role.

Please be aware that while we would love to respond to every application we receive, due to high numbers we cannot guarantee this. We do however appreciate any time you invest into the application and will make sure to get in touch should anything in future more closely fit your skillset.
