Skillsearch is helping a Canadian gaming studio find a highly motivated Games System Designer to assist their in-studio team in the creation and support of a VR game. This full-time role is remote across Canada and comes with a generous salary and benefits package.
As a Game Systems Designer, you will create and validate design documents, game balance, core systems and features, prototypes, UI flows, and strategic and meta gameplay.
In your first few weeks in this Intermediate Game Designer role, you can expect to:
- Integrate assets, provide detailed (and proactive) feedback
- Take a hands-on approach to testing, balance, and gameplay
- Review and balance implemented features and systems for quality and adherence to the design and business goals
- Collaborate with the Creative Manager and designers to iterate and evolve project features and gameplay.
To apply for this game design role, you will need demonstrable knowledge of mobile and F2P design fundamentals and must have participated in the design of games on PC or Console. You will also require the following:
- Experience creating games in the Unity engine
- Ability to take responsibility and ownership with good personal initiative
- Positive attitude and drive to work in a challenging, highly collaborative team environment
- Passion for playing and making games.
