Do you have systems design experience, and are you seeking a new job in Guildford? Our client is looking for a full-time Game Systems Designer to work on an exciting new project, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. 

As a Game Systems Designer, you will collaborate with design, engineering, art and animation teams to create varied and compelling systems, from combat to progression. This position requires someone who likes getting their hands dirty in the engine and tools. 

In your first few weeks in this Game Systems Designer role, you can expect to: 

  • Provide clear feature documentation, diagrams, calculation models, wireframes, and prototypes 
  • Provide guidance and feedback to your peers 
  • Adapt to technical and production constraints, reworking designs when and as often as needed 

To apply for this Game Systems Designer role, you will need previous experience in a commercially shipped title with responsibility for systems, level design and scripting. You will also require the following: 

  • Experience designing core systems, analysing gameplay, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and recommending improvements – shipped titles 
  • Knowledge in designing and writing scripts to handle gameplay systems, basic AI behaviours, state machines and scripted sequences 
  • Demonstrated experience of a collaborative approach to game making, showing how you worked together with the other disciplines/team members to realise the best possible gameplay experience
