If you have game developer experience and you’re seeking a new remote role, Skillsearch wants to hear from you! We are helping a UK-based gaming studio find a full-time Game Programmer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. 

As a Games Programmer, you will be working on a next-gen VR game. You will be writing stable, readable and modular C++ code that best uses the Unreal Engine.  

In your first few weeks in this Senior Programmer role, you can expect to: 

  • Work closely with the design department to ideate, plan, implement and balance gameplay features and player-facing mechanics 
  • Build flexible and robust systems and tools that empower the art and design teams to create and balance the game 
  • Collaborate with production to estimate timescales for feature implementation and issue resolution 
  • Profiling and optimising code and systems. 

To apply for this Senior Programmer role, you will need 5+ years of professional knowledge of C++ programming and working knowledge of the Unreal engine. You will also require the following: 

  • Ability to write readable, robust and performant code utilising appropriate design patterns and software engineering principles 
  • 3D maths and data structures, with a thorough knowledge and proficient application of 3D mathematics, algorithms and structures 
  • Experience working professionally with Unreal 4, with Unreal 5 being a bonus.
