Do you have game development experience, and are you seeking a new remote role in Canada? Skillsearch is helping a virtual reality (VR) game development studio find a Gameplay Programmer, and the remote role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. 

As a Gameplay Developer, you will be building the next generation of games across multiple platforms (Desktop VR, Mobile VR, Console VR). You have multiple years of experience with Unity (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and are excited by the opportunity to build systems, interactions, and mechanics that are delightful, reliable, and performant for a live-service, online multiplayer game. 

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: 

  • Design, build, implement, and maintain significant portions of our core game systems and tools across multiple platforms 
  • Contribute creatively by being involved in the design process and proactively prototyping new ideas and solutions 
  • Assist with build debugging and deployment across all platforms 
  • Work on a wide variety of features and systems 

To apply for this role, you will need a degree in computer science or equivalent experience and demonstrable professional game development experience. You will also require the following: 

  • Experience with version control software (Git) 
  • Experience with rendering, memory and performance optimization 
  • Experience with game security or cryptography 
  • Fluency in networking and multiplayer concepts
