Game Programmer in Wilmslow

As a Game Programmer at this studio in Wilmslow, you will work closely with all other disciplines to create strong gameplay code for the major world-famous IP you are working on. Within the role you will work on AI systems, write player mechanics, engineer game systems and more all in C++.

Game Programmer key responsibilities: 

  • Engineer modular game systems to create networked content for the game 
  • Work on AI systems to create enemy AI, party AI and boss AI 
  • Write player mechanics 
  • Write gameplay systems and GUI systems 
  • Implement achievements and trophies using C++ 
  • Mentor junior members of the programming team 

Essential requirements for this role in Wilmslow: 

  • Talented at programming gameplay and mechanics 
  • Fluent in object-oriented C++ with debugging skills 
  • Strong 3D maths and physics skills 
  • Unreal Engine experience on one or more shipped game 
  • University degree (or equivalent) in computer science or similar 
  • Previous experience in the games industry
