As a Game Designer, you will be working directly with other departments on small agile titles as well as assisting the broader international team on the company's larger development projects.
In your first few weeks in this game design role, you can expect to:
- Concept game play systems and assist with their implementation into the project
- Create documentation, function specs, diagrams and any other supporting material to aid art, programming, audio and UI departments
- Undertake gameplay testing and fine-tuning
- Work with the design team and other developers to realise a project's creative vision.
To apply for this game design role, you will need to be adept at working within an industry-standard game engine such as Unreal, Unity or comparable. You will also require the following:
- Excellent pen and paper design skills can convey ideas well both verbally and in documentation
- Skilled at creating and maintaining spreadsheets
- Knowledgeable of the industry as a whole and able to discuss mechanics found in other titles
- Prior Game Design experience at a studio is ideal, but for a promising candidate, an entry-level position will be considered.
