We are helping a talented and creative team in Copenhagen find a full-time Game Designer to help them develop a 3D action platformer with embedded vocabulary learning. The founding principle of the studio is to combine learning with state-of-the-art game development. They consider themselves to be game developers first and foremost and believe a fantastic game is essential for the learning aspect to be successful. You will handle the day-to-day implementation of new features by providing feedback to artists, level designers and engineers.
During your first few weeks in this game developer role, you can expect to begin work on:
- Creating design documentation for upcoming features
- Tweaking the controls and feel of the game
- Balancing the in-game economy
- Working with the level designers to elevate the game mechanics of each level
To apply for this game design role, you will need 2+ years of game design experience and Unity experience. You will also require the following:
- A hands-on approach to game design
- Ability to both visualise and describe designs
- The ability to balance a game in a structured way, for instance, by using a spreadsheet
- Experience with using analytics as part of the design process
