Do you have digital lighting experience, and are you seeking a new job in Guildford? Skillsearch is helping a games studio recruit a full-time Environment Artist, and the role comes with a generous salary and benefits package. 

In this lighting artist role, you will create AAA-quality lighting for engaging game experiences. You will also work with technical art and engineering to deliver world-class and innovative techniques.  

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do: 

  • Plan lighting work and dependencies 
  • Optimise lighting content for memory and performance while retaining visual quality 
  • Be aware of potential risks to the project and bring it to the attention of management 
  • Collaborate with the team to decide on the best working practices. 

To apply, you will need experience creating real-time dynamic and baked lighting, grading and other post-fx, all with an eye on image quality and performance. You will also require the following: 

  • Lighting experience in UE4/5 (or similar game engine) 
  • Experience in industry standard art tools such as required 3DS Max/Maya, Photoshop 
  • Working knowledge of art creation workflow, asset exporting, and data-driven pipelines 
  • Experience managing and training a team of lighting artists.
