Skillsearch is looking for a creative and passionate Environment Artist to join our client's friendly and talented team. This full-time environment art role is remote in the UK and offers a compelling salary and benefits package.  

As an Environment Artist, you will significantly contribute to the creation of AAA world art, level design and lighting. You will also work closely with the Art Lead to establish the project's aesthetic and technical standards for environment art. 

To give you an idea of how this environment art job would look and feel, these are some things you could expect to do: 

  • Contribute to level design and work with the level design team on all aspects of gameplay relating to the game environments 
  • Oversee and support the external management and integration of outsourced content 
  • Problem-solve and consistently present sound solutions to technical issues associated with creating real-time game environments 
  • Proactively assist in defining art pipelines and best practices against industry benchmarks 

To apply for this Environment Artist role, you will need an exceptional portfolio demonstrating a breadth of ability and traditional drawing skills. You will also require a solid understanding of 2D/3D art packages, including Photoshop, Maya, Z-Brush, etc. In addition, you should be able to design, prototype, model, texture and light beautiful and immersive stylised worlds. A generalist creative and technical skillset that reaches beyond the remit of world art is also essential. In addition, a degree in fine art, computer animation, digital media design or a relevant degree would be desirable.
