Skillsearch has an exciting opportunity for a creative and talented Environment Artist to join our client's welcoming and vibrant team. This full-time environment art role is remote in the US and comes with an excellent salary and benefits package.  

As an Environment Artist, your responsibilities will primarily be environmental art, design, world-building, and hero prop creation. This will include creating the environments and props that make up the suite of locations available to users to meet and interact within the UE4 game engine. All facets of hard-surface modelling, lighting and material authoring will fall onto your shoulders.  

To succeed in this Environment Artist role, you should be creatively flexible and understand modelling, common architectural patterns, and UE4 workflows. If you have prior professional experience in character modelling, that would also be a huge plus. The following skills and expertise are also essential: 

  • An excellent portfolio with numerous examples of high-quality fully realized UE4 environments 
  • Knowledge of hard surface modelling workflows within Maya, Max, or Blender, including lightmap creation and retopo and normal mapping processes 
  • Excellent understanding of material workflows in Substance and translating those materials into UE4 
  • Outstanding knowledge of UE4 environmental art tools, including knowledge of lighting, postFX, and complex material blueprints 
  • Ability to break down and prioritize complex tasks and communicate with senior
