Do you have DevOps or software developer experience, and are you seeking a new job in London? Skillsearch is working with a growing games studio who are looking for an Engine Programmer, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

In your first few weeks in this engineering role, you can expect to:

  • Plan and develop engine features that will allow our Engineering, Content and Design teams to achieve more
  • Contribute to the technology stack to empower our game teams to develop the next generation of online games
  • Develop solutions to technical problems, and provide insights on performance, memory, scalability and robustness
  • Help develop and improve the development process across the engineering group

To apply for this Engine Programmer job, you'll need to have shipped a game in a tech role or similar. You'll also need:

  • Demonstrable experience with C/C++
  • To be passionate about high-level architecture and low-level code and the ability to write lean and performant code
  • To have a good understanding of modern game engines, their architecture and their capabilities
  • To possess a good understanding of computer science fundamentals and mathematics

VR and AR Consultant Ryan Templeman

Ryan looks after programmers particularly focusing on the VR/AR space. We think he’s working here mostly get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead!    He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian. In fact he has never moved far - to the point where last time he moved, it was only 2 doors down from his old place!
