Skillsearch is working with a gaming studio who are looking for an experienced and collaborative Economy and Engagement Designer to work on engagement from pre-release on a brand-new AAA FPS title. This is a full-time role that comes with a favourable salary and benefits package.
As an Economy and Engagement Designer, you will work closely with the design team and learn together how we can optimise the game for maximum enjoyment while at the same time providing incredible value for players that want to invest more than time. While retention and re-engagement is highly prioritized as opposed to short-term profits, we also want to minimize buyer’s remorse. We want our paying players to become the most passionate advocates for the game, even long after they've decided to leave.
In your first few weeks in this Economy and Engagement Designer role, you can expect to:
- Design, implement and evaluate the company's monetization strategy, including quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Be responsible for the in-game virtual store, including recommendations and contributions towards catalogue and pricing strategy for micro-transactions
- Joint optimisation with marketing, acquisition and CRM teams for the entire user journey
- Be a key stakeholder in-game frontend presentation and flow for engagement and game economy features
- Design and collaborate on the metagame, progression and economy systems for long-term player retention and engagement
To apply for this Economy and Engagement Designer role, you will need 3+ years or more experience in equivalent roles. You will also require the following:
- Experience developing, launching and operating free-to-play games with a proven track record of improving KPIs
- Excellent understanding of acquisition, retention and monetization concepts
- Understanding of automated processes for the creation of personalized content sales
- Some understanding of AAA gameplay and game design, including player psychology, UX design, and gameplay design
