Director - Emerging Technology

A visionary destination project is seeking a Director of Emerging Technology to lead the discovery, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge tech solutions designed to power one of the most ambitious immersive environments in the world. You’ll work hands-on with emerging tools and platforms, lead proof-of-concept projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the future of immersive experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing…

• Leading the identification, research, and technical development of emerging technologies for large-scale immersive environments

• Running concurrent proof-of-concept tests to evaluate readiness and application for guest-facing experiences

• Delivering in-depth technical analyses and research reports to guide future development pathways

• Collaborating with architects, engineers, content creators, and third-party partners to bring new technologies to life

• Acting as a key technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, from testing to full integration

• Supporting the transition of successful technologies into long-term experience development pipelines

• Staying ahead of technology trends and contributing to the innovation roadmap

• Partnering with incubators, start-ups, and R&D hubs to secure early access to transformative technology solutions

• Advising stakeholders and internal teams on technology fit, limitations, and commercial potential

What They Want To See…

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field (bonus points for business or management training)

• 10+ years of experience working with immersive and emerging technologies, ideally within theme parks, stadiums, live entertainment, or large-scale venues

• Proven success in evaluating and integrating cutting-edge tools into complex technical ecosystems

• Visionary mindset and the ability to forecast technology trends and anticipate guest needs

• Strong technical acumen paired with excellent project and budget management skills

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with third-party developers and vendors

• Deep knowledge of current and emerging tech in the immersive experience space

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to share complex insights in a clear and actionable way
