Development Manager in Guildford

As a Development Manager at this studio in Guildford, you will work alongside the game development team and key stakeholders to ensure the game projects you work on are delivered to the highest standard possible. 

As a part of the team, you will get to enjoy a hybrid working model of onsite and remote working, flexible working hours, the chance to work at a fast-paced start-up as well as experience the latest console platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series X! 

Development Manager responsibilities: 

  • Ensure delivery of the project on time and to a high standard 
  • Manage production schedules in coordination with team leads 
  • Blend agile and other project management methodologies to support the team 
  • Track project progress and provide team updates 
  • Finalise and deliver the game to console and PC release standard 
  • Raise issues with managers and stakeholders and carry out changes 
  • Resolve any conflicts within the schedule 

Essential requirements for this role in Guildford: 

  • Track record of working on one or more shipped high quality PC or console game 
  • Knowledge of and experience with agile and waterfall project management 
  • Understanding of all aspects of designing, building and optimising a game

Located in a beautiful spot in between London and England’s south coast, Guildford is a busy market town that has been recently updated to be home to some great modern facilities such as an award-winning sport centre, including an ice rink and athletics stadium. However, there is still some culture to be explored in this city, with its historic buildings, beautiful parks and a theatre. Sitting on top of a central hill, Guildford Cathedral looks over the city whilst being surrounded by beautiful, picturesque scenery, making for some great exploring. Situated just outside of London, Guildford is a short 35-minute journey into the capital by train, so is ideally positioned so you are not too far away from a day trip to the big city!
