Data Engineer

Do you have data engineering experience, and are you seeking a new remote role? Our client is looking for a full-time Data Engineer, and the role comes with an attractive day rate and gives you the chance to be part of a positive and diverse workplace culture. 

In your first few weeks in this Data Engineer role, you can expect to: 

• Deliver data engineering solutions supporting online platform analytics and data science projects 
• Incorporate new data sets in the data lake using data integration technologies 
• Enable the integration of external data sets based on available formats 
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: Automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc 
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Azure technologies. 

To apply for this data engineer role, you will need an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, information management, public administration, management or a related field. You will also require: 

• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in applied analytics, business intelligence, information management or statistics 
• Experience in mid to expert level programming capabilities in Spark, Python or Scala 
• Experience on the Azure cloud including Data Factory, Databricks, and Data lake storage
