Skillsearch is partnering with a leading client in the gaming industry to find a talented individual to oversee all internal and external communication strategies. In this pivotal role, you will foster a strong internal culture, build a cohesive brand identity, and engage external audiences, including players, media, and industry stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

External Communication:

Brand Strategy and Management:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive communication strategy to elevate the company’s brand within the gaming industry.
  • Oversee the creation of corporate marketing and promotional content, ensuring alignment with the company’s voice and values.
  • Define and update key messages, Q&A content, and processes for handling sensitive topics and crisis communication.
  • Brief and collaborate closely with external communication partners.
  • Establish communication activity plans and report progress to the management team.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with press, influencers, and key media outlets.
  • Develop and distribute press releases, manage interviews, and ensure accurate media representation.
  • Identify opportunities for company spokespeople and collaborate on content for interviews and appearances.

Social Media and Community Engagement:

  • Manage professional community engagement through channels such as LinkedIn, forums, and blogs.
  • Define and implement content plans to grow visibility and engagement.
  • Monitor social media performance, community feedback, and sentiment.
  • Provide leadership and set clear goals for the multimedia content team.

Event Coordination:

  • Lead communication efforts for major industry events and conferences.
  • Prepare speaking points, presentations, and materials for executive appearances.
  • Propose and drive media and conference training for key spokespeople.

Internal Communication:

Team Alignment:

  • Develop and manage internal communication strategies to ensure alignment with the company’s mission, culture, and goals.
  • Facilitate transparency through newsletters, Q&A sessions, briefings, and town halls.

Internal Messaging:

  • Craft compelling and engaging communication for event invitations, announcements, and updates.

Studio Events:

  • Develop and execute an annual calendar of internal events that align with company vision and goals.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of high-quality events to enhance team engagement.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event surveys to gather feedback and assess impact.

Change Management:

  • Support internal messaging during organizational changes, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Advise leadership on effective employee communication strategies.

Culture Building:

  • Promote the company’s culture and values through storytelling and branding efforts.
  • Organize and communicate company-wide events, workshops, and engagement programs.

Qualifications and Key Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior communications role, ideally within the video game or tech industries.
  • Strong understanding of video game development, publishing, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading both internal and external communication campaigns.
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams, marketing, and community managers.
  • Proficiency in communication tools and platforms, including social media, PR software, and internal collaboration tools.
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience building relationships with media, influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in crisis communication and reputation management.
  • A passion for video games and gaming culture.
