As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will build automation templates for Azure Cloud services integrating with continuous integration and continuous delivery CI/CD pipelines. You will also design, develop, test, and deploy scripts and workflows that will enable the automated provisioning and configuration of Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, web apps, databases, Cognitive Services etc.
To give you an idea of how this Cloud Automation Engineer role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- Work closely with the ICT cloud and security team to scope propose use cases into deliverable cloud platform automation
- Create IaC for various Azure resource types, for example, AKS, Azure Cognitive Services, Storage Accounts, SQL Databases, Function Apps, etc
- Build a CI/CD Pipeline for resource creations based on IAC
- Document the usage and testing of the Deployment Pipelines
- Propose and develop innovative integration with existing applications like ITIL systems
To apply for this Cloud Platform Engineer role, you will need at least four years of hands-on experience working on cloud automation within corporate environments working with Azure. You will also require the following:
- Demonstrable experience in serverless compute functions management and implementation (AWS lambda, Azure function, Google cloud functions)
- Experience in CI/CD, deployment pipelines, coding life cycle hands-on experience GitLab (Azure DevOps, GitHub actions or similar is an advantage)
- Experience in Cloud monitoring (function execution, orchestration, costs) and working experience with IaC Terraform
- Working experience with cloud services like Azure storage account, Azure SQL Database
