Do you have character artist experience, and are you seeking a new job in Guildford? Our gaming client is looking for a full-time Character Artist, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a Senior Character Artist, you will create realistic, photo-real characters for the company's projects, ensuring that all artwork meets the art direction requirements of the game whilst adhering to any technical restrictions. You will also be responsible for helping to define both the quality bar and optimal workflows for asset generation.

In your first few weeks in this Character Artist role, you can expect to:

  • Use production design art packs and concept art to create highly detailed character models
  • Work closely with the art team to improve workflows and processes
  • Take ownership of larger art tasks and see them through to completion
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as lighting and VFX artists, graphics programmers and level designers to create an AAA game experience.

To apply for this lead/senior Character Artist role, you will need at least 5 years of experience as a character artist, working on at least one AAA title. You will also require the following:

  • In-depth understanding and practical experience of high-end character modelling, sculpting and PBR materials
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to create photo-realistic character models, both at high and low resolutions
  • Experience using the Unreal Engine would be an advantage.
