Are you a C++ Programmer with experience working on game clients, development tools, and large-scale codebases?

We’re hiring a Contract C++ Programmer to support client-side development and internal tooling for a live mobile game. This role focuses on improving core client systems, development pipelines, and tools that help teams build and release features more efficiently.

About the role

As a C++ Programmer, you will work within a dedicated technology and tools team focused on improving the core game client and internal development workflows. You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to build tools, debug systems, and improve development pipelines that support ongoing feature development and live updates.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working in large codebases, solving technical challenges, and building tools that improve developer productivity.

What you’ll do

Client-side development

  • Implement and maintain client-side systems using modern C++
  • Support game engine integrations and gameplay-related client features
  • Debug, profile, and optimise client performance

Tools and pipeline development

  • Develop internal tools that improve content creation workflows
  • Build debugging, profiling, and visualisation tools used by development teams
  • Improve build pipelines and release workflows

Technical collaboration

  • Work closely with multiple engineering teams and development groups
  • Identify technical issues and bottlenecks within tools and pipelines
  • Propose and implement pragmatic improvements that increase stability and efficiency

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • Strong professional experience with modern C++
  • Experience working within large, long-lived codebases
  • Background in game development, engine systems, or development tools

Technical skills

  • Experience building or maintaining internal development tools
  • Familiarity with asset pipelines, build tools, or debugging systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within complex codebases

Working style

  • Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to take ownership of technical problems from investigation through to resolution
  • Self-driven and able to progress work independently

Nice to have

  • Experience with game engine systems or engine integrations
  • Experience building in-game debugging or visualisation tools
  • Experience improving developer tooling or production pipelines
