Our client, the largest VR developer in the world, is looking to recruit an Animation Programmer who can aid us in our mission. This is a full-time role based in Amsterdam that comes with a favourable salary of up to €60,000 and a benefits package.
As an Animation Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining animation pipelines, tools, systems, and features. You will collaborate with other programmers and artists working with advanced animation technologies to push the visual bar in effective, emotional storytelling.
In your first few weeks in this VR role, you can expect to:
- Take ownership of the animation work, working closely together with the tech leads to make it fit the complete codebase
- Help develop, expand, maintain and support the animation pipeline, animations tools and animation-related gameplay elements
- Use your knowledge of C++, object orientation, design patterns, algorithms and data structures to create solid technical designs and efficient implementations for the required animation work
- Apply a critical eye, willingness to experiment, and enthusiasm to collaborate with artists and other creatives to achieve the best possible end result
To succeed in this flexible role, you should have experience with animation techniques such as rigging, state machines, interpolation, physics ragdolls, inverse kinematics (IK), and facial animation. You will also need to:
- Have written a number of games in C++
- Have a proper understanding of all the basic concepts of the language such as object vs data-oriented approach, inheritance vs composition, pointers vs references, encapsulation, data structures and their performance characteristics
In return for your dedication and commitment, we will provide an attractive salary of €60,000.
