As an Animation Manager, you will support the Technical Animation team and collaborate with the Technical Animation Director to ensure the teams follow the company's long-and-short-term vision for animation tech.
In a typical week in this Technical Animation Manager role, you can expect to:
- Help implement the overall vision and determine technical as well as production feasibility
- Work closely with programmers to assess existing tools
- Occasionally help design custom ones to improve new or existing pipelines further
- Review feature design specs and identify and analyse risks for production.
To apply for this Technical Animation Manager role, you will need 7 years of working as a Tech Artist in the games industry, with at least two shipped AAA projects in your portfolio and 3+ years of leadership. You will also require the following:
- In-depth knowledge of game engines, 3D software (Maya, and MotionBuilder)
- A good understanding of scripting languages (C#, Python) and animation-related workflows like rigging, skinning, state machines
- Demonstrable experience in content wrangling, workflow streamlining and pipeline management for large and complex projects
- Experience developing tools for animation-related systems on previous projects.
