We’re working with an innovative independent game studio looking for a skilled 3D Character Art Generalist to join their remote team on a 4–6 month contract, with potential for extension based on performance and project needs.

If you thrive in fast-paced, creative environments and enjoy working across character modelling, animation, and technical implementation in Unreal Engine 5, this could be a perfect fit.

Technical Art (Characters)

  • Set up shaders and ensure clean integration into the game engine

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have):

  • Prop Art – model and texture stylised props or prep assets for team handoff

  • Technical Art – shader editing, reactive physics for props or environments

  • VFX – basic particle effects for characters or environmental elements

  • Lighting – create lighting scenarios that support mood, palette, and art direction

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent understanding of form, proportion, and colour

  • Strong hand-painted texturing skills

  • Deep familiarity with stylised asset creation pipelines for UE5

  • Comfortable with tools such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar

  • Ability to sketch or quickly concept visuals to communicate ideas

Why join this project?

Associate Director of Games and Interactive

Our Associate Director, Joe, joins Giles in heading up our Games and Interactive division, his passion springing from being blown away by the effects in Star Wars at a young age. His love hasn’t wavered and Joe always seems to bring out a new Star Wars t shirt every dress down we have! We are lucky to have him considering that he once got stuck half way up a mountain in Borneo so now he goes for flatter holidays – most recently driving across America in a Mustang.
