We recently had an incredible day volunteering at FareShare Sussex and Surrey, and we couldn’t wait to share our experience with you. FareShare is an amazing charity dedicated to fighting hunger and food waste, and we were thrilled to lend a hand and make a difference in our local community.

Morning Shift: Carrot Champions 🥕
The day began bright and early with the morning shift team. Armed with determination and smiles, they rolled up their sleeves and got to work checking, weighing, and sorting over half a tonne of carrots. It was no small feat, but our team powered through with enthusiasm, knowing that they would soon be on their way to those in need.
Afternoon Shift: Red Hot Chilly Pickers ❄️
Next up, Emily, Charlie, Jake, Ryan and Emily showed up for the afternoon shift and took on the "chill room". They braved the fridge, stacking and picking orders full of fresh food to supply to those in need all across the county. It was a refreshing change of pace and a great way to end the day on a high note.
Tours and Training: Behind the Scenes 🚶♂️
Both teams had the opportunity to tour FareShare’s warehouses and receive training on manual handling. It was amazing to see the behind-the-scenes operations that keep this incredible organisation running smoothly. The training ensured we could help out safely and efficiently, making the most of our volunteer time.
