For our first Hotlist of the new decade, Sanson picks his top five titles set for release in 2020!
When you start working with us you'll be introduced to a dedicated member of the team who will then be by your side throughout the whole recruitment process.
Our Oracle expert, Mark, has dedicated nearly a decade to growing our Oracle practice here at Skillsearch. He is a keen cricketer who bats a bit, bowls a bit less and is amazing at standing in the field. A Manchester United fan and a proud Father, Mark holds the record for having more things from Amazon delivered to the office than everyone else combined. He also has an infectious laugh so try and get him going when you speak to him.
Georgia is here for programmers of any shape, size or engine. She’s got some nifty technical ability herself although previously that’s been channelled into photography where she’s a technology whizz and can make the camera do anything she wishes. She works damn hard so loves her holidays to switch off and gives Milan and Tenerife as her top two destinations. We’re still slightly disappointed that she didn’t bring an armadillo back after meeting some in Tenerife though as we think an office armadillo would be wonderful!
Giles runs our Gaming & Interactive division and specialises in forming tight knit teams, whether that’s for a studio or in our office. He represented his county at rugby for every age group from 12 onwards which no doubt helped him to cultivate his excellent understanding of team dynamics. Giles is known for his warmth and willingness to take time to work through any issues that may arise, although make sure you don’t try and share his food as then you won’t be getting a warm welcome – Giles doesn’t share food!
Joe is our Animation and VFX Consultant, his passion for the latter springing from being blown away by the effects in Star Wars at a young age. His love hasn’t wavered and Joe always seems to bring out a new Star Wars t shirt every dress down we have! We are lucky to have him considering that he once got stuck half way up a mountain in Borneo so now he goes for flatter holidays – most recently driving across America in a Mustang.
Freya is our word wizard and seems to have beautiful words stored in her hands just ready to fall out onto a page. Lucky for us she has chosen to share her skill with us to write job descriptions, blogs and social media posts to make everything you see as enjoyable as possible. Her favourite things to do around Brighton are visits to Devils Dyke and Ditchling Beacon to enjoy the wonderful scenery so with this and her love of words we imagine that in another life she would’ve been the heroine in a Jane Austin novel or Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
John is your man for Unreal & C++ programming but that’s not the only language he specialises in. He’s fluent in Portuguese, not bad at Spanish and has an A-Level in French so he’s a bit of a linguist! He will always stand by you through the ups and downs of the recruitment process as he’s not one to be scared off easily. Don’t believe us? Last time he went to the Philippines he not only cycled on a cable wire across a canyon, went canyoneering, and swam with whale sharks – he also met some terrifying Tarsiers!
Jack looks after three areas, Games Design, Games Production and Game Analytics yet with the help of his near photographic memory he will always remember you and everything you’ve ever discussed. He’s no stranger to production himself, spending a few years producing incredible tapas as Head Chef of a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Jack also owns a pug called Pumba who was the ring bearer at his wedding and even got his own custom suit to match the groomsmen.
Ryan looks after programmers particularly focusing on the VR/AR space. We think he’s working here mostly get his hands on new Lord of the Rings VR experiences as soon as they come out although, with his level of knowledge, maybe he should be helping make them instead! He is one of the few people on the team that is a born and bred Brightonian. In fact he has never moved far - to the point where last time he moved, it was only 2 doors down from his old place!
Harry is our Games Design & Production Consultant and you’re in safe hands with him as he’s quite the games enthusiast himself! He used to rank in the top 10 players in the UK at Halo 3, so with this alongside his history of competing as an amateur boxer, we think he’s the perfect consultant to back your corner and help you find your dream job in games. If you want to keep him onside, make sure you don’t dawdle, as getting stuck behind slow walkers is his biggest pet peeve! Don’t worry though, you can always make it up to him with so ...
If you’re looking for a job in Workday, Charlie is our in-house expert! He’s learned from the best with his two black Labradors Ziggy and Freddy – versatile and loyal, Charlie will stick with you until he gets you settled in the right job! Catch him while you can though – Charlie’s dream is to own a house in the mountains where he can ski to his heart’s content, so get in touch before jets off to The Alps!
Kyle finds perfect candidates to fill roles in several areas of tech, but his versatility doesn’t stop there! Pretty sure he holds the record here at Skillsearch for having participated in the most sports, including football, rugby, cricket, badminton, boxing, kickboxing, and skateboarding... Did we mention he’s a black belt in karate?! Picking up several injuries in these activities over the years has resulted in him becoming double-jointed, so we can guarantee that he’ll bend over backwards to find you a role that’s your perfect fit!
Christina is our UI/UX specialist and once you start working with her, she will always fight your corner – literally! She’s done martial arts since she was tiny and has been National British Savate Kickboxing Champion… so definitely someone you want on your team, whether it’s for kickboxing or recruitment. When she’s not teaching kickboxing, she’s busy at home teaching her beautiful cat Bagheera to sit, paw and twirl – anyone who can teach a cat to do tricks is pretty skilled in our books!
Our Operations Manager Catrin is here for all our Consultants, Contractors and Clients for everything they need help with throughout the recruitment process. A priceless point of contacts for a number of client and candidate enquiries, she is an important part of the strong relationships we build and maintain as a business. Despite her talent in a vast number of activities however, Catrin’s main regret is her inability to whistle, although we have to admit it is quite amusing to watch her try.
Our MD fitness fanatic and father of 3 Richard will be found running or in the gym every lunch as he says that’s the only place he ever gets any peace and quiet. Voted 9 out of 10 as a geek by the team Richards top 3 loves are Star Wars, Tottenham Hotspur and his family – although we aren’t sure in which order. Richard is the office oracle and says what he doesn’t know about recruitment isn’t worth knowing – we haven’t managed to prove him wrong yet!
Harry is dedicated to speaking to brilliant Games Artists across the globe. A County level Squash champion Harry also likes a sedate life and is more likely to be found at the weekend with a fishing rod in hand rather than a racquet.
Sanson works with Joe to find the absolute best Animators and VFX Artists although their talents don't stop there! This team are our shining stars when it comes to getting to know a company inside and out and being able to complete a whole team. So if you're looking to hear about the company of your dream - get in touch with Sanson!
